private information that is provided by our customers and therefore established
this privacy policy. This Policy describes how ONSET treats information
received about you when you provide information to us by subscribing to ONSET
Services ("The Service") or when you visit our Web Site.
Customer information is any information that identifies you,
whether a particular individual or business, and is provided to us by you
through the Service registration process. ONSET collects and stores your
information on limited access computers, (that may be hosted by a reliable
third party) which are only available to those employees who have a need to
know or act on your information only for one of the following purposes:
-
Delivering the Service or any part thereof;
-
For billing purposes;
-
Resolving system errors or problems;
-
We provide some information to companies that we use to perform certain
functions for us -- for example, credit card numbers are sent to a credit card
processing company for billing. These companies are not authorized to release
this information to other third parties.
-
Distributing Service updates or important notices to our customers.
-
We also use customer information from time to time to offer various products
and services (some of which may be provided by third parties) to our customers.
-
We may also use customer information to enforce our appropriate and fair use
policies as described in the ONSET Service Agreement, but only to the extent
necessary.
-
We will share customer information with governmental authorities when legally
required to do so (or in good faith belief that such action is so required),
and may cooperate with these authorities investigating claims of illegal
activity such as (but not limited to) illegal transfer or use of copyrighted
material, mail and wire fraud, or postings or email containing threats of
violence.
Like most Web sites, ONSET makes use of browser "cookies."
Cookies are files written to a user's hard disk and read by server programs to
inform a Web site if the user has previously visited that site. We use cookies
to continually enhance your ONSET experience, and may use them in the future to
store customer preferences and choices.
Our account management Web pages use cookies to store and
retrieve session identifiers that correspond to a secure database containing
each customer's user name and password information. This is designed to
facilitate access by customers to ONSET member services. These cookies do not
enable third parties to access any of your customer information.
We may make changes to this policy from time to time. We will
post changes to our Privacy Policy here, so be sure to check back periodically.
We may also decide to notify our customers by email of significant changes.

Which wireless devices work with the METAmessage Client for BlackBerry?
The client software works
with all BlackBerry models (including BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry 8830 World Edition).
Models 5810 and 6510 use a server-based spell checker which is a bit slower than the spell checker used with other
BlackBerry models.

Print - how does it work?
The Print service lets you print an attachment that youve received with an
email message on any convenient fax machine.
To use the service without using the client:
For example, lets say that you receive an email message with an MS Word
document attached. You simply forward the email message to print@metamessage.com
and include the fax number of a convenient fax machine as the Subject: field of
the email message (include the area code).
The service converts the Word document into a fax and sends it to the fax
machine at the number you entered in the email message Subject: field. The fax
retains all the formatting of the original document.
You can also use this service with your laptop! If youre at a hotel and you
dont have a printer, use the service to print your document on the hotels fax
machine!

Web page/URL - how do I print it?
To use the service without using the client:
To print a Web page on a local fax machine, send an email message to print@metamessage.com
and include:
-
The number of the fax machine in the message Subject: field (include area
code).
-
The complete URL (http://www.sitename.com) as the only text in the body
of the message.
The service creates a fax of the Web page and sends it to the fax machine at
the number you entered in the email message Subject: field. The fax retains all
the formatting of the Web page.
You can also use this service with your laptop! If youre at a hotel and you
dont have a printer, use the service to print Web pages on the hotels fax
machine!

I tried to use METAmessage.com - why did I receive a “Not Registered” message?
There are several reasons why you might have gotten this message.
- Have you registered for the service? You may have heard about it from a friend or colleague, but not realized that you need to register before using the service. Go to the METAmessage home page to sign up for a free, 14-day trial.
- Has your METAmessage.com trial account expired? If so, go to the METAmessage home page to sign up for a paid account.
- Did you use the correct email address when you signed up for your METAmessage.com account? The address you entered should be the one that you will send email from when you use the service, and is not necessarily the same address that you use when you send email in other ways. For example, you may use a wireless handheld device that sends from a different email address than the one from which you send on your desktop computer.
- Did you click the final Submit button at the end of the sign-up process? If you did so, then you should also have received a confirmation email. If you did not receive a confirmation email, then it is likely that you did not click the final Submit button.
- You may be trying to use the print feature, but you signed up for the Read-only service.
- You may be trying to print to a fax number that is outside of the U.S. or Canada.
- Your company may have implemented METAmessage for Wireless in-house, and you are registered to use that service to convert documents. In this case, the METAmessage.com servers won't list you as a registered user, so when you send a request to read@metamessage.com or print@metamessage.com you will receive the "You are not registered" message from the METAmessage.com service. Please contact your company’s IT department to learn to which email addresses you should send your requests.
If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please email support.
